What? Asparagus as an aphrodisiac? Asparagus Fun Facts:

Asparagus cultivation began in Egypt more than 2000 years ago for medicinal purposes. It’s name was derived from the Persian term “asparag” meaning “shoot”. An asparagus-based aphrodisiac from the same area was discovered in a 16th century love manual. Asparagus came to the America with the pilgrims, and today California is the largest producer in the US.
